Name: Mangibai Kumavat, resides in Chileshwar, panchyat samiti Kareda.72 yr old Mangibai Kumavat stays about 85 km from the district headoffice for last 40 yrs post her wedding. Once she had an argument with her neighbour over some reason who then forced Mangibai to sell 2 acres of her land touching her farms. Mangibai flatly refused. About 15 days after this incident, 8 people from neighbourhood came and badly beat her with lathi. After this, 4 men caught her and the remaining 4 of them heated up an iron rod over her stove and badly burnt her stomach and hands. She was alone in her house and that time, and nobody from neighbourhood came to help her because the accused were influential people. These people wanted her to quit village, but Mangibai wasnt ready for that. Next day she came straight to Mahil Suraksha Kendra and told her story. She lodged an F.I.R against the accused. People of the Mahile Suraksha organized a meeting in her village. All the village people were of the opinion that Manigbai is innocent and need not leave the village. For a week after this incident, she was treated in the hospital for her injuries. Today, the case against the accused is still on in the court. But Magibai was not scared of this, instead she asked for a strict action against them.
