20 y.o. Seeta Mali, Resident of Haripura square: Her husband didn’t like her from the beginning of their marriage, but he had to marry her under pressure from his family. Few days after marriage, he got a job in Bhilwara homeguard. Seeta who was born and brought up in village, was always shouted at, and deplored by saying that she was no match for him. Seeta was always sad due to these domestic issues, and was reluctant to share this with her family about this, as she didn’t want them to be worried about her. So she continued to suffer this silently. Her husband used to shout at her over small things, saying "You are too dark and ugly, we don’t match each other". One day when he found her alone at home, he crushed her face with a large stone, and repeatedly hit her till she died.
Finally he hanged her corpse, and locked the house and left for his parent's village. After not seeing her for 3 days, neighbors called her family members, who broke open the door, and informed our organization, that they found her body in suspicious conditions and it's not a suicide but a murder. BMCS member Tara Ahluwalia reached the scene, and got her corpse down in the presence of the local police officer, and took it to Seeta's native place Haripura, where her autopsy was performed. Autopsy report stated that she died of injuries, due to beating by a bicycle chain, and her face was crushed by a stone, and her dead body was hanged to portray it as a suicide. BMCS head Tara Ahluwalia was present at the time of postmortem. Her husband was present at the time of investigation and under pressure from BMCS, in the presence of locals he was arrested and tried under the charge of murder. He was given life imprisonment by court.
